About the job

Are you seeking a way to utilize your electrical engineering expertise on a global scale? As a Commissioning Engineer Maritime, you’ll have the opportunity to independently perform commissioning, service, and maintenance tasks on electrical installations. What are your responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting: You’ll diagnose faults in sensors, wiring, system cabinets, and other installation components. This involves replacing parts, adjusting settings, and repairing components. Your active problem-solving contributions will be invaluable. Afterward, you’ll compile detailed service reports.
  • System Commissioning: Your role includes commissioning newly installed systems, such as battery systems, hybrid installations, and propulsion systems. You’ll rigorously test the wiring, sensors, and overall system functionality. Identifying and resolving sources of faults is a key part of your work.
  • Global Assistance: Occasionally, a yacht located anywhere in the world may experience a malfunction. You won’t hesitate to board a plane promptly, troubleshoot the issue, and assist the client in getting back on course. When you go abroad you will work in small teams for 4-6 weeks.

You have it

When you work as a Commissioning Engineer Maritime, you need:
  • At least a completed education in Electrical Engineering;
  • A few years of experience in a similar function within the maritime industry;
  • Knowledge of dredging technology and processes;
  • Basic knowledge of automation technology and high voltage technology;
  • Familiarity with standards, safety regulations, quality, and inspection requirements;
  • VCA-Vol certification, or a willingness to obtain it;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

  • Salary: Between €3,900 and €4,300 gross per month, based on your level of experience.
  • Net Salary: After deducting health insurance and accommodation costs, your net salary will range from €580 to €626 per week.

  • The first 8 hours mon-fri 115%.

  • Sundays or holidays 215%.
